Customs and Border Protection Agents Trust This Density Meter

Campbell/Harris Security Equipment Company (CSECO) proudly introduces the updated version of the Buster K910B, the Buster K910G Density Meter.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is one of the law enforcement agencies who use and trust the Buster. No wonder — they were also the ones who contributed to the designs of the original Buster K910B when they collaborated with CSECO founder Patrick J. Campbell back in the 1980s.

The federal government requested that Campbell come up with a device which could accurately and effectively locate hidden drugs, narcotics, and other types of contraband. Campbell agreed but with one condition — that he would be allowed to work with the would-be end-users, which turned out to be the CBP agents. He did get to collaborate with them, and together they worked to create the product that would become the Buster K910B.

For many years after it was first launched, the Buster K910B has been regarded as the “gold standard” of contraband detection tools. However, CSECO didn’t settle on that distinction. They looked for ways to enhance the Buster’s features and functions.

And now, with the release of the Buster K910G, you can be sure its performance will be even better than before, while retaining some of the functions of the K910B that those using it have indicated are important. One of the things that didn’t change is trusted technology that the Buster uses — the low-intensity gamma radiation and scintillation detector which makes the Buster a stand out among all the competition.

This sophisticated technology allows the officers to scan through different types of material that include metal, wood, reinforced plastic, stone, brick, and even organic matter such as dirt and several types of liquids.

The Buster enables the user to do quick inspections. It picks up four readings per second, which allows the officers to quickly move the Buster to the next area being inspected. Despite the quickness, the Buster still retains accuracy in its findings, therefore producing accurate results!

Only the Buster K910G Density Meter is able to locate many different kinds of hidden contraband, from narcotics to cash to explosives. All these capabilities of the Buster won’t be easily outdone by other contraband detection tools. This is because the other technologies like ultraviolet wave, millimeter wave, microwave and radio wave creates limited scanning capabilities and the tools may detect just one or two types of contraband. Plus, they won’t scan as quickly as the Buster, and the user may not be quite sure if these rival contraband detection tools will produce the same reliable and accurate results.

Unlike other contraband detection tools, the Buster is also able to detect abnormal and dangerous quantities of radiation. The Buster’s RAD-Aware technology helps the officers to detect whether potentially dangerous amounts of radiation are present. Once the Buster has detected them, it will enable the first responders to establish safety zones to keep other officers and civilian out of harm’s way, in the event of a dirty bomb detonation.

Since CBP was quite instrumental in the creation of the Buster, it is not surprising that they use it as a reliable main tool against smuggling and illegal drug trafficking, along with trained K-9 units. Since the first Buster was launched, there have been thousands of Buster units manufactured and released, and many of them are in use by the CBP agents. Every day, the agents keep a close watch over the major borders and use the Buster and other devices from CSECO to curb the activity of those trying to bring contraband or drugs illegally into our country.

Although it has yet to be specified regarding the comparison between the Buster units in use and the other rival density meters used by the CBP, the Buster has been in use more frequently especially in the southern US such as Texas, California, Florida, and Arizona. These states border Mexico or have major ports along the Gulf of Mexico, which has been regarded as a hot spot for drugs and smuggling. The United States Border Patrol is the CBP’s mobile unit which is responsible for overseeing and securing every major US checkpoint in a bid to prevent drugs and other contraband from entering the country.

These CBP agents need a device to help them locate hidden contraband accurately. Since the agents started using the Buster, the CBP has enjoyed a significant rise in the number of seizures of narcotics and other types of contraband. The agents have detected, located and seized millions of dollars worth of smuggled narcotics, drugs, cash, weapons and explosives in their day-to-day operations.

The Buster K910G is now even more secure and safer to use. It is now designed more ergonomically to accommodate smaller hands (e.g., those of a female inspector). It also features a strap which helps the user maintain a tighter grip on the unit.

The K910G is now devoid of the lead-based components which are present in the K910B. This ensures safety not only for the user but for the environment, as well.

The original Buster K910B from CSECO has been trusted not only by the CBP agents but by other federal, local, and national law enforcement agencies across the US, plus it is also used by other law enforcement agencies in over 70 countries around the world. The release of the Buster K910G Density Meter still delivers the promise of finding narcotics and other hidden contraband like its predecessor, but at the same time guarantees more secure and safer inspections.

If you’re still using your old, unreliable contraband detecting tool, get the Buster K910G Density Meter today and see the difference!
