Law Enforcement Product News Announces CT-30 Kit Uprade

Law Enforcement Product News Announces CT-30 Kit UpradeLaw Enforcement Product News’ July/August issue features a write-up about the upgrade of the CT-30 Contraband Team Detection Kit to the CT-40 Contraband Team Detection Kit.

Law Enforcement Product News is a 32-page digital magazine which is an affiliate of Officer.com. It features articles about the tools and equipment that law enforcement agents use on a regular basis, as well as other related information that officers will find useful.

Campbell/Harris Security Equipment Company (CSECO) released the CT-40 Contraband Team Detection Kit in February 2014 as an upgrade to the previous CT-30 Contraband Team Detection Kit which had been in use by most of law enforcement and governmental agents across the United States. Among equipment included in the CT-30 kit are the Buster K910B density meter, the FV-Series Articulated Fiberscope, and the PN-Series Inspection Probe Kit.

The CT-40 kit contains most of the same equipment as in the CT-30, only it replaces the Buster K910B and with the updated version of the Buster, the Buster K910G; and the Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope Inspection System which replaces the FV-Series Articulated Fiberscope.

CSECO takes heed of the law enforcement agents’ needs carefully and puts what they hear into practice. When the company heard that officers would like a visual inspection tool that was more user-friendly and safe, the CSECO team immediately went to work. The collaboration resulted to the Perfect Vison V20 Videoscope Inspection System. It features the latest technology and is the first videoscope to be certified “safe” by the Underwriters Laboratory (UL) for use in hazardous areas such as gasoline fuel systems and tanks.

The Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope has some of the features of the FV Series Fiberscope – such as the thin and flexible articulating shaft with a fuel-resistant tungsten coating, the powerful LED lighting built into the shaft, and long-lasting rechargeable batteries to ensure continuous inspections. But the difference is that the Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope has a 5-inch, multi-directional color LCD screen which enables for one-unit operation – no need for bothersome attachments that officers would use with a fiberscope.

The large display also allows the officer to see images clearly without losing visual awareness of his surroundings. Another concern that the officers felt towards the FV-Series Fiberscope was that they tended to lose visibility to their immediate surroundings because they had to keep their head down squinting through the fiberscope’s eyepiece during the inspection – something which, the officers felt, was a safety concern. The Perfect Vision V20 videoscope’s large LCD display enables the officers to keep their heads up so that they can be aware of what’s happening around them.

The Perfect Vision V20 videoscope’s LCD display also features the push-button dimming and digital zoom that provides 10 times higher than the resolution of the leading fiberscopes – which means that the videoscope offers clearer views and more vivid colors. These factors result in images that provide more detail which allows the officers to confirm the presence of contraband during the inspection on-the-spot, rather than having to for wait the inspection to be over and then review it on the videotape. It also has digital photo and video capability which means no need for camera attachments.

The most important feature that Perfect Vision V20 videoscope provides is that it guarantees safety. It is now certified “safe” by the Underwriters Laboratory (UL), the world leader in product safety, which attests that the equipment has met the UL safety requirements.

The safety feature in the Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope is CSECO’s response in addressing the officer’s safety issues. CSECO president Tony Harris indicated that CSECO worked closely with the UL to make sure that the equipment is safe to use even in high-risk areas such as fuel tanks. He further added: “We want our users to feel confident they can use the videoscope as they always have their fiberscopes.” At the time of the original publication, no other visual inspection tool had received such safety certification other than the Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope, and CSECO is undoubtedly proud of this achievement.

Damaune Journey, CSECO’s Director of Global Business Development, had something to say about the newest update on the CT-30 kit, “The CT-40 will provide everything officers have come to love about the CT-30, and then some. If you found the fiberscope useful just wait until you use the Perfect Vision Videoscope.”

The Buster K910G, on the other hand, is the latest iteration of the Buster K910B. The Buster K910G still retains the features of the K910B, including the low-intensity gamma radiation emitter and scintillation detector to quickly scan vehicles or areas suspected of carrying contraband. The Buster K910G, like the old version, is designed in a way that it enables the user to determine whether a contraband is hidden in a standard vehicle within five minutes, or an average-sized room within 10 minutes.

Just like the K910B, the K910G still can detect contraband hidden in various kinds of materials such as wood, metal, reinforced plastic, and even dirt. This scanning capability will never be achieved by other contraband detectors using radio wave, microwave, millimeter wave and ultraviolet wave. You can also count on the Buster K910G as it can detect and locate many kinds of hidden contraband: narcotics, illegal drugs, currency, weapons and explosives.

The Buster K910G still has the RAD-Aware radiation detection technology that enables first responders to establish safety borders to protect himself and other people from the imminent dangers of radiation leaks such as from dirty bombs.

What has changed in the K910G is that it is now made even safer. All lead-based components have now been removed, and the radioactive source is 25% less than that of any other density meters. It proves that the Buster is now the safest density meter ever on the market!

If you loved the CT-30 Contraband Detection Team Kit, you will love the CT-40 Contraband Detection Team Kit even more with the addition of the updated Buster K910G and the Perfect Vision V20 Videoscope!
