Customs and Patrol Agents Trust the Buster K910G Density Meter

Protecting the US borders and keeping them safe fall heavy on customs and patrol agents’ shoulders. Inspecting vehicles, cargo, packages, luggage and even people coming into the country for narcotics, illegal contraband, stolen cash, weapons, and explosives – those are the main duties of these agents and they perform them 24/7.

To say that this job is never easy is an understatement. In order to be qualified for the position of customs and patrol agent, a person has to have passion for the law, the ability to read people and possess sharp attention to detail. Needless to say, he or she also has to be fearless, intelligent, determined and a strong sense of focus. Even if they are qualified, they may still have to undergo training to build up their skills before being put to the actual job of protecting the borders.

The job of customs and patrol agents also requires a great deal of stamina – it can be physically and mentally demanding. It can also be frustrating at times. Risks and hazards are not too far to happen.

But fortunately for these brave men and women patrolling the borders, there is a lot of efficient and reliable contraband detection tools that can significantly aid them in their duties. Campbell/Harris Security Equipment Company (CSECO) is the top name when it comes to contraband detection tools. The company is known for the Buster density meter, which is used to scan vehicles, cargo, luggage, etc. for hidden contraband.

Since its invention and introduction, the Buster is hailed as the “gold standard” of contraband detection. The majority of customs and patrol agents have been using the Buster and praising it for its effectiveness, efficiency, and safety. It’s a little wonder – the Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) officers themselves have contributed significantly to the design and the development of the Buster. During the 1980s, CSECO founder Patrick J. Campbell worked closely with the CBP agents who also tested the prototype on the field to ensure that it would do the job as intended – to detect hidden contraband on vehicles passing into the US borders.

The Buster uses the low-intensity gamma radiation emitter and scintillation detector which quickly scans vehicles, cargo, luggage, packages or residences for hidden narcotics and other types of contraband. It is designed in such a way which allows a customs and border officer to determine whether a suspect vehicle tests positive for hidden contraband in five minutes or less or an average-sized room in 10 minutes or less.

Since it was first used by the majority of customs and border patrol agents as well as other law enforcement officers, the Buster has been responsible for the detection and seizure of billions of dollars’ worth of illegal narcotics, cash, weapons, and explosives, as well as several arrests of the perpetrators.

Over the years, CSECO has maintained the core technology and high standards of the Buster density meter which are the main reasons for its success. However, CSECO has also been doing updates on its functions to improve its performance and to make it a lot safer for the users and the environment.

Only a few years ago, the first version of the Buster, the K910B, was added with a new feature: the RAD-Aware. It is a radiation detection technology that allows first responders to set up safe borders in the event of a dirty-bomb detonation or any other dangerous radioactive release.

Most recently, CSECO updated the K910B to its newest version, the Buster K910G. The core technology and basic features of the K910G are the same as those of the K910B. However, the K910G has no lead-based components and its radioactive source is now 25% smaller than that of competing density meters, making it the safest density meter on the market!

You can never find another density meter of this kind like the Buster K910G density meter. Its cutting-edge technology, proven track record, user-friendliness, and enhanced safety features have made the Buster K910G as the most preferred, trusted and recommended density meter among the majority of law enforcement agencies.
